Ted Baker : SS13 - review

Ted Baker SS13

Recently, Ted Baker has caught my eye a lot more than they used to. they have some really great stuff in this season with bright colours.

I yesterday bought the wallet Kassady Crystal Bobble Matinee Pure (Pale Pink), which is such a lovely wallet with two beautiful Gems on the top forming in a bow shape. This elegant clutch wallet is crafted from 100% bovine leather with a patent finish. The crystal bobbles finish the kiss lock closure with style. Inside is a fan opening dual compartment with decorative lining which includes 12 credit card slots, which is perfect for me because I have a lot of cards, as well as an id window allow you to keep your items organized and safely inside. A black zipper compartment allows for extra storage. Which is good for all those extra Coins.

 Price - £75

I thought this was a little bit over the top as it is made of plastic but you are paying for the brand. STUDENTS TAKE NOTE- Ted Baker are doing a 20% student discount which makes it that little bit cheaper.

Additionally I bought the Womens Ted Baker Polee Flip Flop Black Cream Pvc Sandals, which are gorgeous, the minute I saw them I knew I wanted them, just to walk in or go to the pool in. The colour is really beautiful, however such a shame they don’t have a matching purse, which is what I was originally looking for.

The only limitation to the flip flops is the fact it is plastic, so if you are feeling hot or sweaty well, your going to slip right out of them, which is a bit annoying. But Other than that I adore them.

Price - £35

For a bit of plastic I think it’s a bit pricey. I noticed Primark are doing very similar ones for £6 using pretty much the same colors. (which is sooo annoying)

But yet again you can use your student cards.

Mimona !

The Mimona is a Moroccan tradition which includes loads of cakes , Morroccan tea & pancakes. They  say that the name Mimouna derives from the Arabic word for “wealth” and “good luck,” or the Hebrew word “emuna” (faith) or “ma’amin” (believe).

this is how i dressed before wearing the gown,
my lipstick was that of Mac for all of you asking.
My Leopard Necklace is from misscinderella.co.uk

my Maxi dress was from www.missguided.co.uk , (WHICH I ADORE! its really light in the hot weather which is perfect for summer )

(my mothers uncle Rafi, who owns the most incredible moroccan antique shop in jaffa)

it is custom to throw sort of open house parties to visitors, after setting out a lavish spread of traditional holiday cakes and sweetmeats. One of the holiday favorites is Mofleta. Which is the sweet pancake. (which can be seen above)

The table is also laid with various symbols of luck and fertility, with an emphasis on the number "5," such as five pieces of gold jewelry or five beans arranged on a leaf of pastry. It is also custom to wear moroccan outfits as can be seen above.

I thought this tradition was a lot of fun and a real cultural experience.

Whats your tradition?

Hope x

April Acessories

My April Accessories

it is essential for every women to accessories herself, accessories give that extra BLING factor to make you stand out.

This month, the colour blue & black has really caught my eye.

The items below are from a new and up and coming website. www.misscinderella.co.uk is the one to watch out for.

Although some of you may be put off by the prices I think it’s quite varied. Some are cheap prices and some are not.  My favorite bit about the store is the packaging, I love how the gifts are received all nice and done up J.

My favorite item has to be number 7 the glittery phone cover. I have an Iphone 4s and it is great, really stands out and is not to tacky. I believe Miss Cinderella has a few other colours, obviously pink.

Number 1 however, is my favorite necklace by far, made my 925 silver and with an opal hand shaped pendent. Personally, I love what the hand symbolizes. It is a Hamsa necklace, which is supposed to ware away all evil spirits, including Jealousy. YES HATERS GONNA HATE. I think that having the necklace gives me a lot of self-confidence, which I guess is good. Who knows if it works or not but I love the traditional symbol and doesn’t get rusty in water, trust me I tried it.

Number 2 moustache necklace is really in recently not sure why but I think its cute to wear just to spice an outfit out whilst just chilling at home and relaxing or going to a lecture. Its not even that expensive online.

Number 3 gives that Aztec/ Egyptian look which is kind of ironic as only a few weeks ago it was Passover. Anyways this leaves you feeling like an Egyptian goddess especially with summer coming up, gold is really in.

Number 4 is the peacock earring again going in with the blue theme; I really like these as causal earrings, call me weird but there HOT.

Number 5 is gorgeous; the Victoria necklace is stunning with a little black dress or just leggings and a nice top. It defiantly stands out though which with a tan,  makes you feeling gorgeous.

Number 6 again is a hamsa, the colour turquoise is beautiful, again looks gorgeous with a tan.

Number 7 is again the phone cover I love it but I love anything that sparkles.

TRY IT YOU NEVER KNOW

Tangle Teezer

TANGLE TEEZER : REVIEW

After loosing a lot of my hair after travelling for the last year... My hair is my life, simple!

I hate brushing my hair but now thanks to Tangle Teezer ,I am OBSESSEDTangle Teezer's come in several different colours, all quite vibrant and are available in superdrug stores such as Boots for around £11.

It glides through my hair, detangles any knots without any pulling or yanking. It easily runs through your hair and what I like most, is that it doesn't leave my hair looking bushy when I run it through dry hair. There are rumours that if you brush your hair when it's wet and if it has tangles, they'll just snap off, thus I've always been quite cautious with brushes. I got recommended to use Tangle Teezer, I wasn't sure how it would be different to  a normal brush it is incredible.now i will brush through my hair when it's wet.

it enables my hair to dry straighter .... BONUS!!!
Even with hair extensions they are perfect because they brush and miss out where the extensions connect to the hair... winner!

It is the best  £11 I have ever spent and i know my hair is grateful to it. They come in so many different colours from plain black to orange, to Pink etc so dont worry ladies.

I cannot recommend this product enough, go get one!

WEAVE GOT STYLE REVIEW

Weave got style

Just before new years, I thought it would be great to get weaved in hair extensions. In Selfridges I came across weave got style in Oxford street’s Selfridges. I thought to myself, well this shop is in Selfridges so it must be good.

They told me the hair cost 380 pounds, and then every time I needed to get the hair retied it would cost me £30. The hair needed to get retied every 4-8 weeks. In addition they sold me the shampoo, hair conditioner, the serum and the brush. which each were over 10 pounds. ALL WERE A RIP OFF, The tangle teaser brush you could get at boots for a few pounds cheaper and the shampoo, conditioner and the serum didn’t work at all. In total i spent 420 on the hair and products.

I thought to myself, ok it’s expensive but the retie isn’t that bad. So not even 4 weeks passed but 3 and I went to get a retie, even though I live two hours away from London, low and behold my surprise when I assumed it was 30 pounds but no it was 30 pounds per layer. Therefore costing me £90 three times the amount to the price that was sold to me. It was a bit late to change my mind as they already retied it. Therefore that being 510 pounds.

What surprised me even more was that 5 days after that retie I needed a retie AGAIN (not the 4-8 weeks that was promised)

So I went online to find the website, but didn’t find any contact, therefore I had to tweet them.
On tweeting to ask how to contact a complaints department this is what the response I got. (below)

I then left my details on the so-called contact page and never got contacted back.

I must say the hair is GOOD QUALITY but personally you are much better going to a hair salon locally getting the hair for half the price and reties are 10 pounds per layer and not 30 per layer.

OUTCOME: NOT RECOMMENDED

St. Ives Sensitive Skin Gentle Apricot Scrub - Review

St. Ives Sensitive Skin Gentle Apricot Scrub : Review
According to St. Ives "This extra mild Apricot Scrub for dry or sensitive skin instantly smoothes skin and its gentle enough to use every day."

I've been using St. Ives Sensitive Skin Apricot Gentle Scrub for about 6 months.after a long and hard search for something that works, I have found St Ives. I find it to be quite a good exfoliator and a must in ones life. St Ives is by far the UK's best selling scrub brand. Its no surprise  that  nearly everyone I know has used this at some point in their life even men!Like most scrubs it gently exfoliates the dull surface cells to unravel a bright, radiant and smooth skin. St Ives Apricot gentle scrub is mild enough to use daily but for best results use 3/4 times weekly.

Tip - If your a fake tanners this will removes n tan marks!

Application:
Recommend to use once or twice a week. Moisten face with some water, then squirt some onto your finger tips and massage onto face using circular motions. Rise your face when finished.

Pros:

·                     Exfoliating beads are not scratchy
·                      There is a Lovely apricot scent
·                     Leaves skin feeling smooth
·                     Affordable

Cons::

·                     Nothing to dislike

Overall: Although the packaging says you can use this daily, I wouldn't recommend it. Initially, when I first bought this I used it every day. I found that it makes me skin feel really tight and it was starting to get a little flaky and dry. Therefore I reduced it to 3/4 times a week and it was much better for the skin. This is a pretty good exfoliator and due to it's affordable price and I would buy again.

BARRY M NAIL PAINT REVIEW

BARRY M NAIL PAINT REVIEW

PRICE- £2.99

So, I have a couple of nail varnishes from Barry M,You make think that what is so special about Barry M. I tell you what it is, the colours and how long it actually lasts for.
Barry M has been around for quite some time. Usually i would focus on the eye shadows as I love sparkly things. But something else grabbed my attention a year ago .... the nail polish (i actually love these colours on my toe nails). Due to the fact they have served me so well i thought they deserved some credit on an honest review.

These are my Favorite (left to right)
NP 272 - pink, NP 262- red, NP 296 - orange

I feel that the price per varnish is incredibly good value for money, as you get a lot of use out of it. These 3 products i have had for over a year and well, they last. I love how big of a variety they have; there is a huge choice of colour range, with the latest colours of the season along with plain normal colours. The colour did last a long time. I didn't get that many chips which is good for such a low priced product.

Previously I have bought O.P.I , Leighton Denney nail polishes, honestly this is just as good as them. If you use a base coat and top coat your nails every day then you should get a similar result.

If you buy a brightly pigmented colour then be sure to put a base coat on first.

(An example of wearing the nail polish on Royal Caribbean Cruise this summer.)

My overall view

GREAT....  if you haven't tried them then you

are missing out/mad as they are a good company

and great value for money. HIGHLY

RECOMMENDED.
